The Vision Beneath

2025/04/23

I’m stuck,
shrouded in a cave,
blanketed by my own fear and darkness.
I’m ineffective,
a person with two good eyes blinded by my own hands,
so lost in thoughts I can hardly see straight.
Yet you are always here,
gently removing my makeshift blindfold,
gingerely touching me where I’m hurt
so you can embrace me when I’m not.
You’re a candle for my sealed up body,
a warmth when none else can be found,
a friend in a prison of my own purchase,
and the comforting arms that refuse to stop animating.
