Wires

The wires which extend between our bodies
are the same cords wrapped around our necks.
Like air, we need it to live,
yet each breath brings us closer to death.
I know there are ways to get around this,
and too I even have details of said ways,
yet my stone chest refuses to budge
so I continue lying down wrapped in wires.
